Reserve a Limo for your Christmas Light Tours in New York City

The Big Apple. The City of Dreams. The Greatest City in the World. The City that Never Sleeps. These are just a few of New York City’s many nicknames. And it’s no wonder too because NYC really does have so many things to see and experience, especially during the holiday season. While New York’s major attractions, which include the iconic Empire State Building, bustling Times Square, and whimsical Central Park, are picture-worthy all year round, there is nothing like viewing them and other landmarks and neighborhoods lit up for Christmas. That’s why Christmas Light Tours are a big to-do in New York.

All of NYC’s boroughs boast some neighborhoods or attractions that showcase the most spectacular display of Christmas lights as well. In this blog, we will share some of the places RPD Limousine can tour you and your family around. Whether you need a limo rental from East Brunswick, NJ or surrounding cities to accommodate your large group, our luxury limo service is happy to help.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in Manhattan

Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan between 5th and 6th Avenue and between 49th and 50th Street, The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is a sight to behold when it’s all lit up. This year’s tree comes from Vestal, New York, which is 186 miles northwest of the plaza. The annual tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center will be held on Wednesday, November 29. The 80-foot tall tree will be lit daily from 5 am to midnight until January 13th at 10:00 pm with the exception of Christmas Day when it will be lit for 24 hours and New Year’s Eve when it will be lit from 5 am to 9 pm. Because this area is easily accessible by public transportation or on foot, you can recreate that famous scene from Home Alone 2 when Kevin stares at the tree in awe from the comfort of his warm limo or you can hop off our limo to get some great selfies in front of the tree and do some skating around the rink. Whatever you decide, our professional chauffeurs at RPD Limousine are happy to accommodate your nights on the town.

Dyker Heights in Brooklyn

A residential neighborhood in the southwest corner of the borough of Brooklyn, the residents of Dyker Heights Blvd seriously go all out when it comes to Christmas light displays. The homeowners have their holiday lights and decorations up by the weekend following Thanksgiving. Found between 11th to 13th Avenues and from 83rd to 86th St, the lights stay up until the end of the first week of January, but the prime times to view the lights are from mid-December to New Year’s Eve between dusk and 9 pm. Most of the houses turn their displays off after 9 pm so we can plan to get you there well before that so you don’t miss out on their famous display of Christmas lights. Since there can be a lot of traffic and going on foot is most recommended, we can drop you off at the beginning of the neighborhood and pick you up at the end of the neighborhood, making sure to give you plenty of time to snap pics and take videos of the thousands of lights and wonderful Christmas scenes.

Jones Beach State Park in Queens

The Magic of Lights, which is presented by NY Community Bank, is a 2.5 mile drive-through holiday light attraction at Jones Beach State Park in Queens. Featuring LED technology and digital animations that include the drive-through Blizzard Tunnel, 12 Days of Christmas, Winter Wonderland and The Night Before Christmas, you can expect a spectacular display of lights. Spanning 240 feet of LED Christmas trees, the Toyota Mega Tree Spectacular is also back.

Magic of Lights in Queens runs until Jan. 2 from 5 pm to 10 pm Sunday through Thursday, and until 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Driving through this in one of our stretch limos would make the experience that much more special.

Bronx Zoo in The Bronx

Another great place to go with your young family if time permits is the Bronx Zoo. At night, the park illuminates with holiday cheer as thousands of light displays and custom-designed animal lanterns and animated light shows can be seen across the entire zoo in The Bronx. You and your little ones will enjoy new lantern displays that showcase the wildlife of New York’s ocean waters and wetlands as well as a new interactive experience celebrating bioluminescent creatures. RPD Limousine can add this stop to your itinerary without a problem. The bonus is that on your way back to Manhattan, you'll get to see the spectacular New York skyline and some other beautiful displays.
